The name "LOISIUM" is made up of the words Langenlois and Elysium, a term from Greek mythology. It describes paradise, the place of the blessed.

A place full of enjoyment, myth and excitement - exactly the image the three families from Langenlois - Nidetzky, Steininger and Haimerl - wanted to convey when they founded the "wine visions of Langenlois" and started constructing the LOISIUM in 2001. The 900-year-old cellar vaults are the perfect setting for the mystical adventure world created by Steiner Sarnen from Switzerland and - after they had become obsolete for the purpose of wine-growing - they took over a new meaning.

After only four years, the LOISIUM has made a considerable contribution towards extending the fame of Lower Austria as a wine -growing area over and beyond its borders, and towards making Langenlois into an active hub of the region.
